Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 10, 2026

Gym 2 is a social fitness app built by Sharkdog and Co. This policy explains what information the app collects, why it's collected, and the controls you have over it. We've kept it in plain language on purpose.

Account

Information you give us

When you create a Gym 2 account, we collect your email address and the profile details you choose to add: username, profile photo, bio, gender, age range, height, weight, training experience, and activity level. Your email is used for sign-in and account verification. Profile details power features like your avatar, your strength ratings, and content shown to people you connect with.

Health

Apple Health (HealthKit)

If you choose to connect Apple Health, Gym 2 reads the following with your permission: body weight, active energy burned, step count, and workouts. This data is used only to power in-app features — pre-filling your bodyweight for strength ratings and showing your daily activity inside the app.

We never use Apple Health data for advertising or marketing, and we never sell it or share it with third parties for their own purposes. You can disconnect Apple Health at any time in your device's Settings, and the app continues to work without it.

Location

Location and the map

Gym 2 uses your device's location (with your permission) to show nearby gyms on the map and center the map on you. Your live GPS position is processed on your device and used to query nearby gyms; it is not broadcast to other users.

Your home gym

If you set a home gym, that gym (not your live location) can be shown on the map — and only to people you've accepted as gym bros. You can turn this off with the location sharing setting, which hides your home gym from everyone.

Verification

Lift verification and pose data

When you verify a max, your video is analyzed on your device to confirm the movement. If the lift passes, the video is uploaded and stored so others can confirm the authenticity of your lift — it appears publicly on your profile's max detail.

We also store a small set of skeletal key frames (joint positions only) alongside the video. Verification videos are public by design: proof of a lift is the point. You can replace your video at any time by re-verifying the lift, which overwrites the previous footage.

Before your video is submitted, you'll be shown a notice and asked to confirm. If you'd rather not have footage on your profile, you can skip verification — unverified lifts are still logged, just without the public proof badge.

Content

What you post and share

Devices

Notifications and device data

If you enable push notifications, we store a push token for your device so we can deliver them. We also collect basic technical information (such as app version and crash/error reports) to keep the app working and fix bugs.

Services

Service providers we rely on

Gym 2 runs on a small set of infrastructure providers that process data on our behalf:

These providers process data only to provide their service to us. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising.

Control

Your choices and controls

Age

Age requirement

Gym 2 is not directed to children under 13, and you must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If we learn an account belongs to a child under 13, we will delete it.

Changes

Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
